The 20th Anniversary Concert
For 20 years, the greatest songs of all time, authentic sounds, an energetic live performance, and a great love for the Beatles’ details. That’s RINGO!
When it comes to debating who the greatest band of all time is, regardless of personal taste, you inevitably end up with the band from Liverpool whose songwriting potential, creativity, and coolness remain unmatched to this day. Some musicians from various Aachen bands also came to this conclusion 20 years ago, fueled by copious amounts of beer and schnapps, and formed a self-proclaimed pop supergroup to pay homage to the Beatles.
Not only was the band’s vocals wide open from the start in the Britpop tradition, but above all, the guitar amps were cranked up to eleven. Initially, the focus was more on raucous songs like “Helter Skelter” from the White Album or “I Want You” from Abbey Road, and in no time the band made a name for themselves in the scene as “Oasis-Punk-Beatles from Germany, who play a little bit louder”.
A lot has happened with RINGO since that spur-of-the-moment idea. With enormous attention to detail, the band has explored virtually every phase of the Fab Four’s career and developed a broad repertoire of over 90 songs. From “Tomorrow Never Knows” and “A Day In The Life” to “Come Together,” RINGO brings to the stage many tracks that the Beatles themselves never performed live.
RINGO was soon considered THE German Beatles tribute band and has since played countless club and festival concerts, such as the “International Beatles Week Liverpool (GB)”, the “Cavern Club Liverpool (GB)” or six shows at the world’s largest Beatles festival “Abbey Road On The River (USA)”.
RINGO now want to celebrate this milestone this evening in the music bunker, where it all began 20 years ago, with selected guests and a special setlist.
