For about four weeks before Christmas, the squares and lanes around Aachen Cathedral and the town hall are transformed into a Christmas village. Twinkling lights and the scent of mulled wine and Aachener Printen (kind of gingerbread) wherever you go – and all in a unique atmosphere! It’s no coincidence that Aachen Christmas market has regularly made it to the top ten Best Christmas Markets in Europe in recent years.
For coaches for group arrivals, the Bendplatz is available as a free parking lot.
There will be a shuttle bus to the Christmas market. This costs 2,-€ per person (one way) or 3,-€ per person (both ways).
The walk to the Christmas Market from there is about 1.2 kilometers. Follow the signs in the direction of “Rathaus – Markt”. On the city map (download to print below) the footpath is marked.
