An intimate evening in which dance, live music, conversation and reflection on the concept of time come together.
The idea for 60 in Real Time, by Amos Ben-Tal / OFFprojects, originated during the Corona crisis and is a logical continuation of the previously created dance performance 60 – a physical exploration of the human understanding of time. “Time” as an invisible force that we count together but feel individually. The performance was well received but was forced to cancel.
During the period when the dancers were at home, the need grew for them to come together and re-explore the concept of time. The past few months have forced not only the dancers, but all of us, to adjust our interactions and expectations. The feelings of fear and hope were intense. At the center of all these interactions, expectations and feelings is the sense of time.
Every evening a special guest from science, psychology and philosophy is invited to talk about the concept of time from his or her field of expertise. The audience is also encouraged to reflect on time perception with each other and with the dancers by means of stimulating questions.
OFFprojects is a collective of former dancers from the Nederlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Ensemble that gathers around the work of choreographer and composer Amos Ben-Tal. The company is known for its multidisciplinary performances and exceptional performance qualities. The group has presented several successful productions, including the performance Howl i.c.w. Spinvis (winner of the Dioraphte Dance Prize 2016). OFFprojects regularly tours throughout the Netherlands and abroad.
