An ode to life, with all its ups and downs, its surprises and disappointments
Looking for freedom, lightness and unexpected encounters. What stops us from embracing life and breaking through the restrictions we place on ourselves and each other? The Rotterdam dance company Conny Janssen Danst presents the new performance ZIEL, in which the desire to live life to the fullest is leading. With a strong, adventurous group of dancers consisting of young talent and well-known faces.

In Conny Janssen’s latest work we are in the middle of life, with all the uncertainties and contradictions that come with it. Can we accept life without being paralyzed by the challenges before us? Are we willing to take risks? Can we also feel comfortable if life does not conform to our intentions and wishes?

ZIEL is an ode to life, with all its ups and downs, its surprises and disappointments. From tranquil moments to exuberant celebrations, from painful confrontations to hopeful expectations. In SOUL we express the urge to be free and brash, to throw open the hatches and dive into the deep, without fear or trepidation.

About Conny Janssen Danst
Conny Janssen’s choreographies are characterized as inventive, physically powerful and moving. She draws her inspiration from metropolitan life: a fast and vital world full of diversity. Her dance language does not stand alone but flows together with a refined choice of music, design and lighting.

Conny Janssen has received various prizes for her oeuvre, such as the Golden Swan (2019) and the Prize of Merit (2023) from the Dansersfonds ’79.

Introduction
There will be an introduction to this dance performance. This starts at 7:00 PM in the MFzaal. The introduction is free for Friends of PLT, and €3.50 for other visitors. You book a place for the introduction to the rest of the ordering process.

National Theater Weekend
The National Theater Weekend took place for the first time in 2016 and was an immediate success. The aim of this national event is to introduce the whole of the Netherlands to theater and to show how fun, beautiful, valuable, moving, funny or pleasant theater can be. The ingredients are simple: each performance costs €10 and there are many additional activities that can be attended for free in the theater. This makes this annual theater event a unique experience for everyone.
