ENOWATE means ‘truth stands’ or the truth stands on its own. Dickson Mbi, a dancer with extraordinary strength and grace, evokes multiple identities in this enchanting solo performance around the question ‘who am I?’. He shows mysterious powers to reveal himself and emerge from the shadows.

Beautiful dance that stands on its own
Born in Cameroon and raised in London, dancer Dickson Mbi was inspired for ENOWATE by a life-changing journey to his ancestral home in Cameroon. The many impressions and encounters on his journey deeply affected the London choreographer and brought him closer to the place where his African origins and his modern East End upbringing meet. In the performance, all impressions come together in beautiful dance and a truth that stands on its own: ENOWATE. Dickson won the Olivier Award for outstanding dance performance 2023 with this “powerful, mesmerising, haunting, disturbing piece of work”.
