With Dvorák’s Symphony ‘From The New World’ the evening cannot be ruined. This all time favourite is full of impetuous rhythms and melancholic melodies. Dvorák comkan de avond eigenlijk al niet meer stuk. Deze all-time favorite zit boordevol onstuimige ritmes en melancholieke melodieën. Dvorák composed the piece in America, inspired by new views, but also filled with homesickness for his country of origin: the Czech Republic.
With lead conductor Duncan Ward at the helm, it promises to be a bustling party. In the heart of the concert the beloved Guitar concert by Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez. Exactly, with that wistful Adagio! The Spanish master guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares has the live flamenco culture coursing through his veins, but excels in classical composed music as well. The fact that he used to play solo in Concierto de Aranjuez with the world famous Berliner Philharmoniker, should be enough said. Be touched by his moving playing.
