Gare Du Nord

Gare Du Nord

After a four-year hiatus, Gare du Nord will return to the stage in 2026 to celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary. “We didn’t anticipate this would last 25 years, but now that it’s finally here, it’s fitting to throw a party. That’s why we’re hitting the road with old and new acquaintances to enjoy all the songs we’ve come to love over the years, together with our loyal fans,” says founder Barend Fransen.

Gare du Nord launched twenty-five years ago as lounge pioneers with the cult hit Pablo’s Blues and the gold-award-winning album (In Search Of) Excellounge. Thanks to their unique international sound, the band was the first in the Netherlands to sign a record deal with the iconic New York jazz label Blue Note Records. The band broke through to a wider audience with the album Sex ‘n’ Jazz, which also features Marvin Gaye and Paul Carrack. Sex ‘n’ Jazz spent 98 weeks in the Album Top 100, was awarded triple platinum status, and remains the best-selling Dutch jazz album of all time.

On stage, Gare du Nord has evolved over the years into a dazzling live band that guarantees packed houses. After their farewell to the Dutch public in 2022, the band is now making a one-off return to the stage to celebrate its 25th anniversary with the fans. Especially for this tour, the full live band has its own “queen of soul” Leona Philippo in the lineup, giving hits like “You’re My Medicine,” “Marvin & Miles,” and “Beautiful Day” even more soulful than ever before. Expect timeless soul classics, funky jazz grooves, and the spectacular finale, “We Still Grow.” Line-up:
Aron Raams: guitars, vocals
Marc Schenk: drums
Leona Philippo: lead vocals
Ferry Lagendijk: keys
Sven Happel: bass
Miguel Boelens: sax
