Grammy nominated New York psychedelic Blues/Rock Guitarist Gary Lucas, meets 22 year old Dutch Folk/Jazz singer/double bassist Peter Willems. The result is a double EP called ‘Double Dare’!
“Star potential; that is the word that sticks when the dust has settled after his performance…” according to the Jury in 2019. Peter Willems won a study trip to New York at the Princess Christina Jazz Competition. Immediately after his win, the radio producer ‘Co De Kloet’ initiated a meeting between Peter and the world famous American guitar virtuoso Gary Lucas, known for his work with Jeff Buckley and Captain Beefheart. They first played together in New York, after which recording plans quickly arose. Despite the corona measures, it will be possible to bring Gary to the Netherlands in 2020 for a festival, CD and video recording. A daring collaboration follows. Great contrasts; in the age difference of 48 years, in experience, in musical background and yet it sounds totally obvious.

The result; a feast for ears and heart, including an unfinished song by Jeff Buckley, own works, psychedelic Blues/Folk/Jazz, a song by Schubert, and Folk traditionals. Double Dare VOL1 will be released on all channels on November 5 by Zennez Records.
