Ilgen-Nur is an absolute exception within the German music landscape: On August 30th, “Slackerqueen’s debut album“ Power Nap ”will be released on its own label with the name“ Power Nap Records ”.
It was just a little over two years ago that Ilgen-Nur was on stage for the first time. If you look at the talent of the 23-year-old from Hamburg, it is a medium-sized miracle that it did not happen earlier. After all, Ilgen-Nur Borali is an outstanding songwriter, singer and guitarist. You could already hear it on her first EP “No Emotions”, which was released on cassette in spring 2017 (via Sunny Tapes): Songs like “17” and “Cool” are casual, casual played indie hits with tons of catchy tunes that are unexcited Line up everyday and adolescence observations.
Things start to roll: Tocotronic ask whether Ilgen-Nur does not want to support it, European tastemaker festivals such as The Great Escape in Brighton, Eurosonic or the Spot Festival in Denmark send invitations to Hamburg. Together with her homie tribulation, Ilgen-Nur covers the No Angels and “17” is picked for the Netflix series “How to Sell Drugs online (almost)”. The first own concerts in Hamburg and Berlin are sold out well in advance.

Berlin’s new alternative pop hope Sofia Portanet transports post-punk and Neue Deutsche Welle into 2018 with her very own style. Born in Kiel, grew up in Paris and now at home in Berlin, Sofia emphasizes the various influences on her music: “Ich love the repetitive, minimalist sounds of Krautrockbands like Neu !, but also the arrangements, lyrics and music by Ideal, DAF and 80s synth pop. I was also impressed by the visual and musical craziness of French avant-garde bands such as Les Rita Mitsouko. ”Sofia Portanet’s special vocal style mixes influences from classical and opera with hints of Lene Lovich, Kate Bush and Edith Piaf.
Doors open at 7 p.m., start at 8 p.m.
