THE BRUMS
This brass band with an atypical line up plays with styles and draws its inspiration from electronic music, abstract hip hop and avant-garde jazz. Real hyperactive, these four all-terrain musicians have become, with their respective projects, essentials of the Belgian scene. Acoustic instruments meet electronics (analog synth, fx), energy and freedom meet groove in an original repertoire composed and arranged for three brass and a drummer.
ANNABEL LEE
Joyfully fucked up and naive, the Brussels group Annabel Lee has, since its debut in January 2017, decided to kick in the stretchers with nonchalance. A few explosive lives quickly put them on the radar of the black-yellow-red garage rock scene.
The Brussels group perfected its formula and fixed its line-up around singer and guitarist Audrey, with Vankou on bass and Hugo on drums. Together, they compose a first album “Let The Kid Go” released in March 2020. The 90’s sounds are still part of the recipe but it is above all the efficient writing and the strong personality that emerges from their songs that the critics salute. Annabel Lee is only waiting for one thing: to be able to defend this album live as it should.
In June 2020, the group won the Music Octave in the pop-rock category, just before going to represent Belgium at the Printemps de Bourges (France).
AUCKLANE
The boundaries are porous between the energy of rock and the romanticism of words. It is undoubtedly on this association that Aucklane forged his personality, between the power of his rough guitars and the casualness of his voice. This sensual and magnetic voice which threatens at any moment to implode, falsely disillusioned or melancholy, and deposits with the tip of its lips its confessions and its satires in the hollow of our ears. Aucklane’s music has its roots in rock, English pop and folk, inspired by artists, rebels and poets of the 60’s-70’s and above all, their heirs of the years 2000-2010.
Behind the pseudonym of Aucklane, we find the Liège artist Charlotte Maquet. Not entirely foreign to the Belgian music scene, she is also a keyboardist in the service of Condore, the side project of Leticia Collet (Dan San) and already had at the beginning of the 2010s a first folk pop project.
With Aucklane, she signs a personal, intense and complete project. The songwriter and performer surrounds herself for the stage with Sébastien Beaumont on guitar, Louan Kempenaers on bass and Thibault Jungers on drums.
