In collaboration with Studium Generale Maastricht and InScience Festival, we proudly present the third satellite edition of the science film festival in Maastricht. All programs are in English.
InScience/Maastricht shows three highlights of the festival. This year’s central theme is ‘Our Future in the Making’. Does the COVID-19 crisis provide us with an opportunity to make the major revolution that the climate desperately needs? But who has control over our future? And what will our future look like? Are you hopeful about the possibilities or concerned about what we might lose?

An exploration of the fallout of MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini’s startling discovery of racial bias in facial recognition algorithms. Prior to the screening Dr. Kathleen Gabriels – a moral philosopher, specialized in computer ethics and Assistant Professor at Maastricht University – will give an introduction (30 min.).
