Scintillating, unifying and calming. In the programme Bach, three choreographers each draw highly individual inspiration from the imposing oeuvre of this world-famous composer. 

Selon désir by Andonis Foniadakis is a whirlwind of energy and desire set to the St Matthew and St John Passions. In contrast, the fleet-footed Corpus Bach by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is a playful interaction between two dancers, accompanied live by a cellist. Manuelle Vignoulle has created a new work specially for our Bach show: a meditative ensemble piece about the quest for one’s true self.

Introdans dancers and film-makers Jurriën Schobben and Alberto Villanueva Rodríguez are providing a dancefilm. For the dance film, the makers are inspired by the life of Johann Sebastian Bach. His story is presented in a contemporary and abstract way, based on three important aspects of the composer’s life.
