N∆BOU (BE)
Thanks to N∆BOU, the band of frontwoman Nabou Claerhout, a breath of fresh air is blowing in the landscape of Belgian jazz. Her adventurous music rests on a foundation of thoughtful rhythm patterns, groovy bass lines and virtuoso guitar playing. Central is Nabou’s pulsating trombone playing, who knows how to make the trombone sound cool like no other. With her completely unique sound, she creates a dreamy musical framework full of atmosphere and melancholy in which the collaboration with her quartet flourishes.

Just like those three sides of the ∆, the Brussels trombonist Nabou Claerhout surrounded herself in 2016 with her three favorite musicians to set up her own group. With Trui Amerlinck on double bass, Roeland Celis on electric guitar and Mathias Vercammen on drums, this quartet unites some of the most talented young musicians in the Benelux and is rapidly storming the European stages as the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2022.

2 Männer und 1 Mann is a jazz trio with Moritz Schippers on keyboards and synths, Sascha Mans on bass and Samuel Reißen on drums. Humor and musical depth do not contradict each other in the program of 2 Männer und 1 Mann, but rather merge into an exciting and rousing sound world. When they came together during their studies at the Maastricht Conservatory, the band was hustling and bustling in the jazz scene of Aachen and Maastricht. From dreamy ballads and smooth grooving songs to exciting jazzy experiments, expect the unexpected and be ready to be ripped out of your comfort zone by this surprising trio!
