Veronika Harcsa & Bálint Gyémánt Quartet (HU/BE) + Peter Willems Quartet (NL)
Veronika Harcsa (HU) & Bálint Gyémánt Quartet (BE)
In the field of tension between thoughtful jazz, subtle chamber music and energetic rock, a completely new terrain is created, created by singer and composer Veronika Harcsa and the Bálint Gyémánt Quartet. The quartet sounds both like a rock band with jazz nuances and sometimes reminds you of a chamber ensemble with a jazz, rock or ambient flair.
During a concert, many of the band’s decisions come from spontaneous improvisation. For example, it can happen that Gyémánt plays a solo and Harcsa adds lyrics afterwards – the result can sound like a composed song, when in fact it was the result of improvisation. By constantly experimenting with new ideas and changing the order of the songs, the quartet is able to capture the spontaneity of improvisation every time. This keeps both the band and the audience on the edge of their seats.
