Pop-up Jazzclub presents

A pleasure to watch and listen to!
The Belgian composer and pianist Jef Neve is one of the most successful Belgian jazz artists of the moment. He played with many greats, including Jamie Cullum. In 2017, Neve met top Dutch trumpeter and flugelhorn player Teus Nobel during the recording of his album Spirit Control. Since then, the two have formed the duo Neve & Nobel.

Together Neve & Nobel have played more than 100 shows in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Australia, Canada and the list goes on! Last season they shone in a tribute on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the godfather of Belgian jazz, the late Toots Thielemans. In our Pop-up Jazz Club the two play a mix of their own compositions and jazz standards – interspersed with anecdotes. They tease each other and challenge each other musically. A pleasure to watch and listen to!

Aftershow: Marloes & Mike
The jazz department of the Maastricht Conservatory always provides an aftershow during the series of ‘Pop-up Jazz Club’ concerts. In the theater café, Marloes & Mike maintain the atmosphere for a while. ‘Marloes & Mike’ is a duo consisting of the Flemish singer and composer Marloes and the Dutch drummer Micky. Their musical paths cross at the Maastricht Conservatory where they join forces and search for a personal sound together. You can expect an evening filled with poetic lyrics, dynamic grooves, a warm voice and your own compositions in an electronic guise.

Pop-up Jazz Club
The Pop-up Jazz Club is a new meeting place on the South Limburg stages for jazz musicians and listeners. In PLT, the ING Hall and LIMBURG Hall are the perfect stages to enjoy special and intimate jazz concerts. The program that we have developed in collaboration with Having put together Jazz Maastricht for the club’s first season sets the tone. From well-known jazz musicians to newcomers and from traditional jazz to modern, cool jazz and crossover: every jazz lover can indulge in the relaxed atmosphere of the Pop-up Jazz Club. It doesn’t stop there, because after every concert there is an aftershow in the theater café.
