Shaping the Future
Works by Glass, Muhly, Reid et al.
After fascinating collaborations with Olafur Arnalds and Philip Glass, star harpist Lavinia Meijer and Nadia Sirota take you on her journey along composers who are defining the face of classical music today.
Sirota is a viola player, radio maker and music programmer for the New York Philharmonic. It is hard to imagine a better advocate for today’s music. In their concert lecture, this fascinating duo tells special stories and plays the world premiere of Ludwig-Leone’s Past Life, written especially for this programme. There will also be four world premieres of new arrangements, including Lumee’s dream by Ellen Reid from her opera p r i s m, which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize 2019.
