Dive into the surprising sound world of tango and classical music.
Accordionist Vincent van Amsterdam, singer Sterre Konijn, violinist Wiesje Nuiver, and double bassist James Oesi take you on a journey through the captivating music of Astor Piazzolla and his contemporaries.
Their program Stories from Buenos Aires connects iconic tangos such as Adiós Nonino and Balada para un Loco with poetic songs like Alfonsina y el Mar and Gracias a la Vida. The intimate ensemble allows every voice and every instrument to shine – from the virtuosity of the accordion to the warm vocal lines and the fiery double bass.
The musicians of Astori Amsterdam combine international flair with a strong connection to the Netherlands. Together, they offer a fresh, contemporary perspective on the rich repertoire of Piazzolla and other Latin American greats.
