We would like to inform you about the second edition of Festival MAAS!, organized by Culture Mosae. The free, city-wide culture festival, which takes place from 6 to 10 September, promises to be an unforgettable cultural journey in which art, theatre, music, dance, film and food come together.

This year it will be a smaller, more compact and clearer event that the visitors offers a broad cultural experience. The festival consists of two parts, the during the week programming ‘MAAS!-voyage’ and ‘Festival MAAS!’ at the weekend.

During ‘MAAS!-voyage’, from 6 to 8 September, various cultural institutions in the city open their doors to show their best side. Think of theater performances at Het Magisch Theatertje and Theaterschool de Zuiderlingen, children’s activities at the Natural History Museum and trial lessons at KuMa Music School Center Ceramics. Various performances are given at Banka Studios and also the Theater aan het Vrijthof opens its doors in the run-up to MAAS!

In the evening of September 8, the coast of MAAS! reaches. At the ‘Costa Kesselskade’ music and dance will fill the weekend and on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September transform even more locations in MAAS!tricht into cultural holiday destinations. This is how the creative village ‘Vrijthof Village’ is created on the most beautiful square in Maastricht Bonnefanten pop-up museum, a maker’s market and a music stage where various local artists will perform. Kunstbende presents young talent there on Sunday.

A musical and theatrical sea breeze blows on ‘Bassin Beach’, with artists such as Janine Kitzen, Dominique Paats and Paulus Schäfer, Diederick Ensink and dancers from Sally Dance Company and the Dutch Dance Days. The Jazz Orchestra comes all the way from Amsterdam concert hall with ‘JOC goes strange’ in which they do musical multi-genre crossovers with five Limburg artists.

And of course ‘Camping Kosmos’ is back, this year on the Richie Backfire square.
Once again the Muziekgieterij, Toneelgroep Maastricht and the Theater aan het Vrijthof joined forces and for this edition a carefully composed program
designed that will be announced on the website and social media channels in the coming weeks made. Already a tip of the veil? Including Muyayo Rif, Yin Yin and the Compact Disc Dummies provide the music, Sven Ratzke and Greg Shapiro perform, there will be danced by Oxygen and collective MAMM and various theatrical acts by artists from Fonds ZOZ complete the party.

The festival is for everyone, young and old. To give everyone the chance MAAS! at
visits, special buses will be deployed on Saturday 9 September to take those who want to go to the festival, so that everyone can enjoy all the beauty that MAAS! at
has to offer; a unique mix of art, theatre, music, dance, film and food.

So dive in and immerse yourself in a holiday full of cultural surprises!
