In 2022 it will be 40 years since Matt Bianco scored his first hit. The British band became world famous for its ‘easy-going swing’ around the recognizable dry-Martini voice of Mark Reilly. The anniversary will be crowned with an exclusive Dutch concert series in which old hits such as Whose Side Are You On?, Half A Minute, Get Out of Your Lazy Bed and Yeh Yeh are heard alongside new work.

Matt Bianco is the band that introduced jazz to the British new wave, ska and punk charts at the time. The band name suggests that she is a personal name, but Matt Bianco is a fictional character inspired by the world of secret agents. “We loved espionage, TV themes and movie scores from the 50s, 60s and 70s,” says Mark Reilly.

New Cool Collective
The Dutch connection with Matt Bianco was recently cited in a collaboration with the New Cool Collective, from which the album The Things You Love emerged. For this new series of exclusive theater concerts, the musical genius of singer and songwriter Mark Reilly is put to work again. In The Essential Matt Bianco the band plays new songs and the big hits from the past. Whose Side Are YOU On?
