Woodstock legend Melanie comes to Kerkrade
Melanie Safka is considered the first and arguably one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time. In our country she is known thanks to Woodstock and for her beautiful songs such as Beautiful People, Ruby Tuesday, Brand New Key, Lay Down (Candles in the Rain) and many more. Her songs are still covered by many pop stars, including Miley Cyrus, Cher, Macy Gray, Björk, Dolly Parton and our very own Mathilde Santing.

The legendary Woodstock festival celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019. Melanie is one of the coryphenes of them. She made her entrance as a singer-songwriter at this renowned festival, which has influenced an entire generation and changed music once and for all. Melanie joins her talented son Beau-Jarred, who supports her on the guitar. The performance will be entirely in the light of the phenomenal Woodstock event of 1969. Between her songs, Melanie talks about her career and her entrance at Woodstock. Afterwards, she stays in the foyer for a while to meet with her fans!
