Theater aan het Vrijthof has been embracing art education in Maastricht for many years. With De Nieuwe Lichting we offer young talents from Conservatorium Maastricht the opportunity to present themselves during a series of Sunday morning concerts in the intimate Bovenzaal of the theatre. Let yourself be surprised by talented ensembles and soloists.

After meeting at Conservatorium Maastricht in the fall of 2022, Erika García (clarinet), Giovanni Landini (cello) and Andrea Boga (piano) come together under the name Mühlfeld Trio, to explore the chamber music repertoire of this special formation . By performing their repertoire as faithfully and completely as possible, they try to expose their audience to relevant, lesser-known pieces of music. As students of Roeland Hendrikx, Gustav Rivinius and Jeroen Riemsdijk respectively, they regularly attend chamber music lessons with Anastasia Safonova at the Maastricht Conservatory.
