For many people, Die Zauberflöte is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most famous and beloved opera. A fairy tale story combined with fabulous music. Who doesn’t know the famous aria of the Queen of the Night?
De Nederlandse Reisopera performs the spectacular music from Mozart’s most famous opera in a semi-staged version.
What is semi-staged?
It means that there is no decor to be seen as you are used to, but there is theatrical lighting. The performance is not a “static” concert because the singers act and sing according to a modified direction. The singers wear clothing appropriate to the act and to their roles. Moreover, the orchestra is not in the orchestra pit but on the stage and is a part of the stage setting. All of the opera’s music is performed, all the beloved arias are in the performance. Naturally, the entire original cast, the Consensus Vocalis choir and the musicians of orchestra Phion are present in the production.
Introduction
As usual, de Nederlandse Reisopera will offer an introduction to this performance. In this introduction you will receive more information about the history and origin of the opera, the music, and composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
