URBAN STORYTELLING WEEKEND | 10 & 11 OCTOBER 2020 | Powered by Bureau Europa
At Once Upon A Town you meet (un) known makers and discover local legends. We pay tribute to Maastricht, its inhabitants and the age-old tradition of telling stories. This year’s theme is ‘Maastrichtse Mannieren’. Who is “de Maastrichtaar” and what is his or her origin? What are their stories, memories, ideas and discoveries?
Have a chat with the “proverb collectors” at the library, listen to singing from factory roofs and meet the residents of Maastricht’s largest insect hotel. Discover the creative living rooms of the city while cycling, listen to stories in “The Invisible Collection” in Marres or join “eve euze Geis opsjöddele” with Jan Janssen. “Come in to Pixeltown” or enjoy the documentary “Accommodation” at Lumière Cinema. Pay a visit to two photographers friend in a studio above the old bookshop in Wyck or walk “literally” in the footsteps of Elisabeth Strouven. Of course you should not miss Jo Coenen’s exhibition “40 years of working in Europe” at Bureau Europa! On Saturday evening you will unravel the personal visions, legends and the (dark) past of Maastricht in bookstore Dominicanen.

You will discover it all and more in the weekend of 10 and 11 October. Would you rather stay at home? Watch or listen to the streams and stories throughout the weekend here!
