*ONLINE* Inspiration session: 1,5 m versus 1,5 C for a Sustainable Future- in conversation with Ignace Schops
The Earth, our home, has a limited capacity to support life. However, we continue to exceed planetary boundaries, leading to, among other things, the climate crisis, a dramatic loss of biodiversity and destruction of ecosystems. It is clear that immediate and large-scale action is necessary, just as in dealing with corona. Yet that does not happen, but why? And if the social distance of 1.5 meters can save us from corona, why can’t we use 1.5 ° C as a moral duty to save us for life? #betteraftercorona
Ignace Schops, Director of Regional Landscape Kempen and Maasland, Full Member of the Club of Rome, Climate Reality Leader, Chairman of the Europarc Federation will share his view this evening and then enter into conversation with Arthur Bribosia, founder of Maastricht4Climate and winner of the UM Student Award 2020.
