In this track we’re in search for a more sensual way of blues dancing. Inspired by oldtimers like Sandra Gibson, Consuela Harris and Katherine Dunham we explore a more feminine and daring style of blues. We look for a way of moving that feels good and radiates confidence. This dance asks more technique and also some excercise on body posture, core strength and balance.
Sensual and lots of fun!
8h of class for only 60€, 6 weekly online classes on tuesdays, starting 5/1/2021.

Sweet Elle is a jazz, blues and swing dancer, based in Ghent (Belgium). She was first influenced by modern dance which openend her eyes for body awareness and techniques. Later on she discovered the joy of swing dancing after which she started teaching lindy hop. But very soon also solo authentic jazz and blues caught her attention.
Sweet Elle likes to dive into different dances that carry the same african roots (such as blues, samba, afro-brazilian dance, authentic jazz…) These african roots are a red thread through her dancing, which makes her style energetic, raw and playfull. She believes blues is one of the most personal and expressive styles within jazz dance. In her classes she tries to share her enthusiasm and hand out tools in order to feel more free in your dance, and to be able to discover your own style.
Once a week we hold a live, online class with information about the historical background of the dance, a warm-up, and the dance class itself.
Are you unable to be there at the time of class? No problem, you can always watch the recording of the online lesson afterwards.
