His Sacre caused a scandel in 1913 in Paris, but with his ballet The Firebird, Stravinsky broke out. Usually we just hear the Suite in the concerthalls, however this time, leading conductor Duncan Ward will conduct the entire ballet, in which all orchestra registeres will be opened.
An opportunity to experience this colourful masterpiece by the Russian grandmaster in its totality. Before the break, Duncan Ward will take course towards his beloved India, where he found inspiration in Ravi Shankar to create his own dizzying orchestra piece Fumes.
even more Indian smells and colours can be found with Finnish composer Hämeenniemi. He created a very pleasant symphonic ode to Indian singer Bombay Jayashri, who became world famous with her performance for the awarded film Life of Pi.
