The schrit_tmacher Festival 2026 is a premier cross-border contemporary dance event in the Euregio region, connecting the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium from February 24 to March 29, 2026. Under new director Yvonne Eibig, it emphasizes exchange, community engagement, and innovative formats like public space performances, with a full program of international choreography, workshops, films, and family events.

Performances span multiple cities with diverse venues:

  • Aachen, Germany: Ludwig Forum (Mulde, Foyer), Theater Aachen, Capitol Aachen, Citykirche, Depot, Atelierhaus Aachen, Bischöfliche Akademie, Rotunde im Elisenbrunnen.

  • Heerlen, Netherlands: Theater Heerlen (RABOzaal), Discovery Museum.

  • Kerkrade, Netherlands: Theater Kerkrade.

  • Eupen, Belgium: Various sites including Centre Charlemagne.

Highlighted shows include “Hype the Pain” by Miller de’ Nobili (Aachen, Ludwig Forum, Feb 28-Mar 1), “Thikra: Night of Remembering” by Akram Khan Company (Mar 24), “Rhino” by Out Innerspace Dance Theatre (Aachen Theater, Mar 27-28), and youth/family pieces like “Des chimères dans la tête (8+)” (Feb 28-Mar 1).
