JAZZ MAASTRICHT PRESENTS: THE POP-UP JAZZCLUB

On Friday September 23 we have a lot to celebrate, Jazz Maastricht exists 20 years! And, we open the new season of The Pop-up Jazzclub during our festive season opening. We will of course celebrate all this in style with the swinging samba and bossa nova of Roda da Holanda.

In The Pop-Up Jazzclub we celebrate the summer for a while and take you to the always warm and sunny Brazil with the stirring rhythms and the infectious samba of Roda da Holanda. During a samba de roda, the musicians play around a table surrounded by the audience. This Brazilian Night at The Pop-Up Jazzclub will be a double party that revolves around live music, dancing, singing and above all enjoying together.

Honest, minimalist, swinging, acoustic, dualistic and above all jazz. These are the first words that come to mind when listening to Nicola Missing (vocals) and Manuel Luque (double bass). The duo Dualistic translates old jazz tunes into a raw, intimate and engaging conversation between double bass and vocals, between a running bass and scat sung syllables, between rhythm and melody and between listener and artist.
