JAZZ MAASTRICHT PRESENTS: THE POP-UP JAZZCLUB

Simin Tander Quartet
The German Afghan vocalist Simin Tander is a unique appearance in the European jazz scene. She sings with impressive intensity and intimacy, taking us on a fascinating route to her Eastern heritage and into the depths of her soul. The Award-winning singer and composer has taken to the stages of major international jazz festivals such as North Sea Jazz and Madrid Jazz Festival and has collaborated with, among others, The Jazz Orchestra of The Concertgebouw, pianist Tord Gustavsen and Eric Vloeimans.

Line up:
Simin Tander – voice, composition
Harpreet Bansal – violin
Björn Meyer – bass & effects
Samuel Rohrer – drums

Dupa Trio
In Dupa Trio, spontaneity, experience, skill, intuition and beautiful timbres come together in an international game between Anna Zavorina (vocals and double bass, Russia), Alexandros Adam (guitar, Cyprus) and Naom Bargil (trumpet and flugelhorn, Israel). Their repertoire includes the greats of jazz including Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Stan Getz and Chet Baker. The performance of Dupa Trio is made special by singer Anna’s talent: with her warm beautiful voice she sings while playing double bass.
