More than a decade ago, the Belgian municipality of Wevelgem was startled by an enormous amount of noise. The instigator? Steak Number Eight, the sludge and post metal four that would sell out the biggest halls in Belgium within a few years and tour with bands such as Mastodon, Alice Cooper and Deftones. It was therefore a complete surprise that the successful band called it quits in 2018. Fortunately, after two big farewell shows, it turned out that this was not a definitive goodbye: the four band members now continue under the name Stake. Expect the same loud sludge and post-metal, but with an unprecedented renewed energy.
