“Extremely talented and closely attuned to each other.” – NRC
The Van Baerle Trio is one of the most renowned chamber music ensembles in our country. Time and again, pianist Hannes Minnaar, violinist Maria Milstein and cellist Gideon den Herder manage to surprise with their phenomenal playing and original programme. In Heerlen you can enjoy the special qualities of this trio with three beautiful pieces for piano by Mozart, Brahms and Chausson.
The Van Baerle Trio takes its name from the street where the musical roots of the three talented musicians lie: the Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam. Here they met during their studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. A stone’s throw from the Concertgebouw, which the three consider their musical home.
A beautiful work
The Van Baerle Trio’s debut CD with works by Saint-Saëns, Loevendie and Ravel was awarded an Edison Klassiek 2013. The ensemble subsequently released Mendelssohn’s Piano Trios. It has recorded all of Beethoven’s Piano Trios and has immortalized Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Residentie Orchestra. The recordings and the concerts were always received with great enthusiasm and star reviews in the national and international press.
