Frank Steijns (André Rieu Orchestra) is celebrating 25 years of the city carillonneur in Heerlen, with ten anniversary concerts that do take place in August. Musical guests include the youngest carillon player in the world.
Concerts from the church tower are allowed to continue, because there is enough space in the adjacent squares in Heerlen’s city center to attend them. The public can sit safely on the terraces of the catering establishments or listen while standing from the squares: de Bongerd, Pancratiusplein and Wilhelminaplein. The 1.5 meter distance limit can be guaranteed in this way.
Today’s program is Violinist Enzo Kok & clarinetist Emil Szarkowicz
The program includes classical works in an arrangement for violin, clarinet and saxophone; accompanied by the carillon of Heerlen.
The young violinist Enzo Kok is already a well-known Limburger at the age of 17 (he has been playing the violin since he was 5). He recently won the prestigious Princess Christina Competition and is one of today’s great violin talents. Enzo Kok studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and co-formed the Kandinsky Quartet there last year.
Multitalented Emil Szarkowicz is a presenter at L1 in addition to being a versatile musician. He plays the violin, clarinet, saxophone and percussion. Is a singer, conductor, producer, composer, arranger and program maker for radio and television.
