Celebrate the colourful and enchanting cinema of Jacques Demy with a retrospective featuring restored versions of the French filmmaker’s most celebrated works. A distinctive voice of the French New Wave, Demy created a cinematic world where music, vivid colour and romance come together.

Blending the charm of classic Hollywood musicals with moving stories of love, chance and separation, his films continue to captivate audiences through their visual richness and emotional depth. The programme also highlights Demy’s influential collaborations with composer Michel Legrand and his creative connection with filmmaker Agnès Varda.
