The third weekend of September, the Maastricht city center is entirely dedicated to Musica Sacra Maastricht. The four-day festival is always based around an annually changing theme that fulfills the key role throughout the program, which consists of about 100 program components each year.
In Antoine Beuger’s extensive piano work traces of eternity: of what is yet to be, written for Dante Boon and inspired by a few key Jewish concepts, the pianist is instructed to ‘reside’ in every page and, while reading or playing, to be receptive to finding a “divine spark” or failing to accept it. With each performance, the piece continues on the next page not yet played.
