According to Amnesty International, 1 in 10 women have experienced some form of sexual violence. This is a staggering amount. Nearly everyone knows a woman with a story about sexual violence, and know even more women who have not dared to speak up about it. Sexual violence ranges from every day occurances, such as catcalling, sexual intimidation and harassment, to rape.

These topics are surrounded by taboo, which shames people from speaking out about their experiences, and to report these crimes to the police. Not only women are affected by sexual violence, men too. Men also face this taboo, sometimes even in more severe ways.

We want to open the discussion, and break the taboo surrounding this subject. With this event, we aim to have an intimate talking session about sex, sexual violence and consent. Additionally, we wish to inform the attendees about their rights related to these subjects, as well as what does and does not constitute consent. Join us on Wednesday the 30th, where we will freely discuss these themes.

Do NOT take pictures during the events without consent of the attendees. Everything discussed during this session will NOT leave this session, especially if it involves personal experiences.
Maximum 10 persons. Registration is necessary via the link.

Free participation. We keep 1,5m distance. The event is organised by AIMS – Amnesty International Maastricht Student association.
