The First Wolf is an Americana folk band formed around Melle Leijten and Suze Commandeur from Groningen. Their whimsical and sometimes gloomy, melancholic sound is established by traditional string instruments and harmonic vocals. TFW is influenced by folk traditionals and bluegrass, and inspired by song-writers such as Tom Waits, Gregory Alan Isakov and Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings.
