An encounter between dance and architecture.
In Interval, two worlds come together. The astonishing movement language of choreographer Amos Ben-Tal and the phenomenal dancers of OFFprojects interact with a fascinating kinetic installation by interdisciplinary artist Gosse de Kort.

Does the space influence the dancers? Do the dancers influence the space? When is it symbiosis and when is confrontation? How do we find the balance between personal freedom of movement and empathy for the other in a shared space? In this hypnotic spectacle, the dancers must navigate their relationships and intuitions in an ever-shifting architectural landscape.

With an introduction on interactions between choreography and architecture
As an introduction to the performance, the makers offer a short lecture. Katía Truijen (researcher at Het Nieuwe Instituut) will provide the audience with insight into the interactions between choreography and architecture, both in Interval and throughout history.

About the makers
OFFprojects is a collective of former dancers from NDT and Batsheva Ensemble. The company that gathers around the work of choreographer and musician Amos Ben-Tal is known for its multidisciplinary performances, including Howl in collaboration with. Spinvis (winner Dioraphte Dance Prize 2016).

Amos Ben-Tal often goes off the beaten track. He allows dance to merge naturally with other disciplines such as music, text and image. At Korzo Productions he created a number of well-received dance pieces. In 2012 he founded OFFprojects.

Gosse de Kort is a Dutch interdisciplinary artist whose work is at the intersection between visual art, technology and architecture. His work has been shown in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Netherlands Architecture Institute Rotterdam, Center Pompidou Brussels and Cadance Festival.
