In Joy Enjoy Joy the dancers of WArd/waRD follow the flow of life, earthy and dynamic. It is a constant, driving and pulsating stream, always in motion, not standing still. A stream that sparkles like reflective light. A glamorous dream, restless and full of energy.

After heavy themes such as in Memory Loss and Accusations, choreographer Ann Van den Broek explores an apparently lighter theme with Joy Enjoy Joy. Only to end up in a melancholy mood of pleasant, but past memories. Joy Enjoy Joy illustrates a transition: leaving behind accusations and reproaches, regrets and impossible desires. Lust turns into deep love, resistance into acceptance. Towards comfort and security.

Movement, music, text and video
Joy Enjoy Joy once again crosses the boundaries between different art disciplines with the combination of movement, music, text and video that is now characteristic of WArd/waRD. For this production, Ann Van den Broek was inspired by the body language of Tom Barman, frontman of the Belgian band dEUS, among other things. Some of his quotes are also woven into the performance, supplemented by the singing voice of Gregory Frateur.

WArd/waRD – Ann Van den Broek
Since 2000, Ann Van den Broek has been making productions with her Flemish/Dutch company WArd/waRD in which she constantly questions, shifts and rewrites the boundaries of dance as a discipline. She is very successful at home and abroad and has twice won the Swan for best dance production in our country for Co(te)lette (2008) and The Black Piece (2015).

Introduction
An introduction to this performance is given by Volkskrant critic Annette Embrechts. Ann Van den Broek will join in. The introduction starts at 19:30 and is free, but advance reservation is required.
