In this concert Miguel Rincón (Sevilla, 1979) shows how the New World has influenced the music in his homeland.
Rincón plays works of the most renowned Spanish composers of the 18th century whose sarabands’, folia’s and chaconnes’ have enriched the Spanish Baroque with their irresistible rhythms. No one else can bring to life the music of these composers that testify of a unique musical melting pot.
Miguel Rincon studied lute and cord instruments in Sevilla, Barcelona and Zürich, was a conservatory teacher in Salamanca and lives now as a freelance performing musician in Basel. He plays a wide repertoire of early music on plucked string-instruments: Medieval Lute, Renaissance lute, Baroque lute, Baroque guitar, Vihuela, Chitarrone, Archlute and romantic Guitar.
