Borodin Kwartet – Tchaikovsky en Beethoven

Borodin Kwartet – Tchaikovsky en Beethoven

Profundity, unusual form experiments and sound effects
In 2020 the Borodin Quartet celebrated its 75th anniversary. Two years later, the belated jubilee tour takes this world-famous quartet to the Netherlands. In Heerlen, the four virtuosos chose a quartet arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Children’s Album with one of Beethoven’s late string quartets; String Quartet No.12 in E flat major.

This masterpiece is sometimes jokingly referred to as ‘music for a desert island’, because of its profundity, unusual experiments in form and sound effects. Like no other, the Borodin Quartet can perform the genius of both composers.
