After her crushing performance in the Best Singers of 2021, no one can ignore Karsu anymore. She bundled all the songs from the program on one album, which immediately entered the Album Top 100. On April 22, this beautiful singer will come to Heerlen with her Club Tour.

It may seem as if Karsu suddenly “falls out of the sky”. Nothing is less true. This Turkish-Dutch singer and pianist made her debut with the album Confession in 2012. Her unique blend of pop, jazz and Turkish music was immediately loved, as witnessed by performances in more than 20 countries around the world. She took the stage in the famous Carnegie Hall in New York and at North Sea Jazz, but in 2017 also in our intimate INGzaal. At the time, Zita Dellink wrote a nice blog about the then unknown Karsu. This unknown is definitely over.

For 2020, Karsu had planned a world tour with concerts in America and Russia. COVID-19 threw a spanner in the works. But Karsu did not sit still: she gave online concerts from behind her grand piano at home, provided a live stream from De Doelen, did an Empty Concertgebouw Session, played for corona patients in the VUmc and picked up her hobby of cooking. With success: the videos of Karsu’s Kitchen on YouTube have thousands of views.

The lover of good food can go wild now that Karsu has her own cooking show on 24Kitchen. And every month she writes a food column in Chantal Janzen’s &C. Musically we can enjoy her latest single Sonunda, which entered the Turkish charts at number 1 this year, and her successful album Best Singers. Those who want to see her live as a singer on stage will have to be patient. This new star, which is now also incredibly large in Turkey, will not come to Heerlen until the fall of 2022.
