In Gardens of Abudance you can see one of the world’s best trumpet players on stage, with a very special pianist next to him. Edison winner Eric Vloeimans finds in Egbert Derix a partner to excel with. Together they settle down in the Pop-up Jazzclub in PLT.

Full of dedication, the two put all the clichés overboard on their double album and in the theater tour of the same name that stick to (jazz) musicians. They play in the now without a strict preconceived plan, a combination of improvisations and their own compositions. And then an unparalleled conversation unfolds between piano and trumpet. Tender, still, then exuberant but always intense. Call it an exciting adventure full of wanderlust and surprises. And after every piece of music they come home for a while.

Pop up Jazz club
The Pop-up Jazzclub is a new meeting place on the stages of South Limburg for jazz musicians and listeners. In PLT, the INGzaal and LIMBURGzaal are the perfect venues to enjoy special and intimate jazz concerts. The program that we Jazz Maastricht for the club’s first season set the tone. From well-known jazz musicians to newcomers and from traditional jazz to modern, cool jazz and crossover: every jazz lover can indulge themselves in the casual atmosphere of the Pop-up Jazz Club. It doesn’t stop there, because after every concert there is an aftershow in the theater café.
