‘A virtuosity and musicality unsurpassed by any other clarinetist (perhaps even instrumentalist), at least in my memory,’ a New York Times reviewer wrote about Martin Fröst. ‘It cannot be described, you have to experience it, heavenly and rugged at the same time’, a Le Figaro reviewer concluded.
This miracle clarinetist and magic musician will solo with Philzuid in Dance Mosaic, part of his acclaimed programme Xodus. In it, he intertwines folk, jazz and classical music in a colourful combination of sparkling dance music. After the intermission, multi-talented Fröst shows a very different side of himself. He wields the conductor’s baton to lead the orchestra in Brahms’ Fourth Symphony. One of the most beloved symphonies of all time.
Made possible by the partner programme of the Vrienden van Philzuid.
