Atmospheric music like a glass of red wine on a winter evening.
The music of the Italian pianist and composer Fabrizio Paterlini is dreamy, delicate, passionate. Call it neo-classical, ambient, minimalist or new age. Paterlini prefers to describe his works as ‘a glass of red wine on a summer evening’, because of the calming effect of his melodies. “Composing sad music makes me happier,” says the composer. Last year we enjoyed Paterlini’s glass of red wine on a winter evening and it left us wanting more.

Fabrizio Paterlini’s career took off in 2007 with the release of his debut album Viaggi in Aeromobile. Despite his international success, Paterlini still lives in his hometown of Mantua, Italy; this historic and romantic city between Verona and Bologna is a great source of inspiration for his compositions. You can hear the romance on his latest album Lifeblood from 2021: a rich sound with warm melodies and a leading role for the piano.
