The world-renowned rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar is coming to Maastricht in March 2024. A story for and of our time, inspiring us to think and reflect.

This new epic version by acclaimed director Ivo van Hove will be brought to life with the English texts and music by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber and a multitalented cast, including Jeangu Macrooy (Jesus), Lucas Hamming (Judas), Edwin Jonker (Pilate), Alex Klaasen (King Herod), Magtel de Laat (Mary Magdalene). 

Jesus Christ Superstar is about a group of people who want to change the world, showing how their efforts result in the biggest movement ever. It is a performance about worship and betrayal. Glorification and slander. Power and rebellion. But above all: hope. The more than 20 songs from the original 1970 album form the story foundation.

Expat Centre Maastricht and Theater aan het Vrijthof are joining forces to create an exclusive, unforgettable Jesus Christ Superstar experience for expats on Friday 8th March. This includes the following:

• Expat gathering with welcome drinks prior to performance in the Edmond Hustinx salon
• Introductory talk by a cast or crew member 
• Seating on stage (so called ‘Super Seat’) for an up close view of the performance
• Free drink after the performance in the foyer
