The masterful and frequently awarded actor Pip Utton succeeds like no other in bringing (historical) characters to life. From Charlie Chaplin to William Shakespeare and from Adolf Hitler to Margaret Thatcher. His transformation into these fascinating personalities grabs you by the throat and does not let go during the performance. Resolution delves into the soul of a father who has lost his 18-year-old daughter in a road accident caused by a drunk driver. The father is blinded by anger, pain and grief. He wants to do to the perpetrator the same thing the man did to his daughter: take his life. However, his vindictiveness turns to despair.

Pip Utton, writer and performer of international solo phenomenon Adolf, follows with a new work of deeply challenging theatre.

Boldly reincarnating the 20th Century’s most notorious tyrant, Pip Utton’s Adolf placed the audience in the presence of the Führer and faced them with their own prejudices with astonishing, and often controversial, results.

Resolution now addresses an issue even closer to home… the desire or need for revenge and retribution in the face of great – or perceived – wrong.

Precepts of justice are challenged. Is it okay to think about getting your own back if it soothes you? Is it okay to plan it if it helps? Is it ever okay to do it?

The bible says ‘an eye for an eye’ but also advocates ‘turning the other cheek’ In America, you can carry a gun for self-defence, but they also advocate the death penalty for murderers. Can a wrong ever be righted by a wrong? Can retribution ever be justifiable homicide or always murder?

Resolution is theatre in its truest form. Challenging, divisive, provocative. You can’t just watch it!
