We look tenderly at a newborn child. We are fascinated and amazed at the sight of budding flowers and lambs in the meadow. Soon, or maybe even now, it could all be a memory. How important does music appear to be for us? Music has that special power to comfort, to release emotions in you and to reset you when memories hurt.

With Pearls around Bach, Ad Mosam brings music that is not only beautiful but also packed with comforting power. Nicolaus Bruhns comforted centuries ago with Hemmt eure Tränenflut and Ich liege und schlafe: two works of breathtaking beauty. The music of Heinrich Schütz is heart-warming, colorful that of Tunder and vital that of Scheidt. These lesser-known masters from before Bach allow us to enjoy intense melody lines and colors. They know how music connects heart and soul.

Concert on location
Ad Mosam celebrates the insignificance of existence and the greatness of life with this concert in the beautiful Sint-Michielskerk Sittard in Sittard. “Close to the audience and where this comforting music comes into its own,” says artistic director Huub Ehlen in an interview.
