Carmina Burana

Carmina Burana

By the Russian National Opera – Orchestra, Choirs and Ballet

Franceconcert presents ‘Carmina Burana’, one of the most famous masterpieces of the 20th century, as a musical and choreographic event.

Based on a collection of lyrical poems, ‘Carmina Burana’ was composed by Carl Orff in 1935 and 1936. First presented in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera House, this masterpiece has always fascinated the general public and leaves no one indifferent.  “O Fortuna”, the most famous movement that opens and closes the work, is now known all over the world.

Performed with passion and power by choirs and soloists, these secular and Latin songs tell us a story of life, death, destiny and above all love. Nearly 100 artists sing of the joy of the return of spring and the pleasures of alcohol, the playing of the wheel of fate, and the dance of love and lust.

In the new production of this musical phenomenon sensuality and emotion predominate, in order to show that music, gesture and word are inextricably linked.

This original and spirited show, which was a great success in the 20th century while performed all over the world, embarks on a major European tour in November 2020 and includes a stop at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp on 17 January 2021.

Tickets: 42, 55 and 66 euros.
Caution! Please note that there is an additional service cost of 2 euros per ticket for tickets bought at the box office.
