The German-Afghan singer Simin Tander is a unique appearance in the European jazz landscape. She is notable for her enormous variation in timbres and expressions, and for her free approach to language

She navigates between rich songwriting and freely improvised textures. Her new quartet consists of Jasser Haj Youssef (viola d’amore), Björn Meyer (electric bass & effects) and Samuel Rohrer (drums). With these impressive musicians from the jazz world and classical music, as a band leader she explores a musical landscape of lyrical and refreshing contemporary sounds with a worldwide album release at the end of 2020.
