Evening Concert Orlando Festival 2021

Evening Concert Orlando Festival 2021

Orlando is back!
Osiris Trio and Rusquartet

Orlando Festival presents a series of ten evening concerts this year. The festival traditionally opens with a characteristic program, performed by the two ‘house ensembles’, the Osiris Trio (Netherlands) and the Rusquartet (Russia), and two soloists.

Two composers take center stage during this 39th edition of the Orlando Festival: Ludwig van Beethoven, with 12 compositions represented, and Rudolf Escher, of whom 7 works will be performed. Beethoven partly because of the corona-delayed celebration of his 250th birth year that would take place in 2020. You will hear one of his beloved Rasumovsky quartets by this great composer. We put Escher in the spotlight, because his beautiful music is rarely heard while he is one of the most important Dutch composers of his generation. In this opening concert you will also hear works by Alphons Diepenbrock, who passed away 100 years ago. The concert opens with a romantic masterpiece by Mendelssohn

Known, unknown, old, new: typical Orlando.
